The Lord Mayor’s Community Sustainability and Environmental Grant program has enabled Mount Gravatt High School to conduct a Level 2 Energy Audit on our school in line with our goal of continuing our progression to becoming a greener, cleaner school.
Viridis Australia, who specialise in sustainability and occupant health, conducted the energy audit which provided an overview of energy performance of the school and identified opportunities for energy reduction.
The recommendation was to replace the mercury vapour luminaries in the multipurpose hall with LED luminaries, by implementing this one change, MGSHS will reduce C02 emission’s by over 15,000 ton per year and save thousands of dollars on energy costs each year.
