Winter is an extremely
challenging time of year for the homeless and those less fortunate, for one
Year 12 student, Gabby Crotty, it become a personal challenge. Gabby took up
the challenge to collect as many blankets as possible to donate to the St Vincent’s
de Paul Winter Blanket Appeal.
A spokesperson from Vinnies said
the demand for warm blankets at this time of year is high but supplies are low
so the assistance will be greatly appreciated by many.
Gabby put out a call to our
school community whose generosity was overwhelming, with over 170 blankets
being donated.
On Monday’s parade Gabby presented
the blankets to Vinnies representatives, Jim McDougall, President, St
Bernard’s Conference, St Vincent de Paul Society QLD and Anthony Forshaw, Youth
Engagement and Development Officer, St Vincent de Paul Society QLD.
