Tribute to Mr Paul
Kingston who is taking leave for the next 12 months with prospect of
retiring from Education Queensland after 35 years of dedicated service. Paul
started off his career in 1983 completing country service in central Queensland
at Moranbah SHS, then to north Queensland at Glenmore SHS, returning to
Brisbane at Ferny Grove SHS, then south to Beaudesert SHS and Helensvale SHS
and prior to Mount Gravatt at Nyanda SHS. He has certainly earned his frequent
flyer points. A process is underway for the filling of the vacancy Paul’s
absence creates. Not only has Paul been an accomplished educator throughout
his career, anyone who has worked with him appreciates his intellect, work
ethic, insight, clever wit and dedication to the education and welfare of
students. Certainly there is a great deal of experience and wisdom accrued in
that time and we have been fortunate to benefit at MGH.
I and everyone who has worked with Paul have always found
him to be the consummate professional, always a role model of character in his
humility; respectful and kind and with a keen eye for detail. A person of
‘presence’ who delivers a touch of class to the organization, I am sure that
students, staff and parents will acknowledge the contribution he has made to
our school. He will be missed by all and we wish him a long, happy, healthy
retirement in the near future.
