The P & C project to establish a community vegetable garden to honour the memory of canteen volunteer Margret Goulden, was a huge success, volunteers from the school, Mount Gravatt Men’s Shed, Bunnings Hardware team members, Mount Gravatt Environmental Group were a hive of activity and knowledge on our officially Planting day held on Januaury 31.

As part of the celebrations a morning tea was hosted by school staff for the family of Margaret Goulden, Cr Krista Adams, and volunteers.

The garden will supply the school community with fresh organic produce for many years to come.
This has been possible with the assistance of a grant from the Lord Mayor Suburban Initiative Fund, Bunnings Hardware, who donated 140 sleepers, seedlings and their team who donated their time to plant the first seedlings. Tingalpa Landscape Supplies who supplied soil and over 140 hours donated by Mount Gravatt Men’s Shed.
