Rotary Clubs do a
wonderful job in local communities and the Rotary Club of Mount Gravatt overwhelmed
our Student Support Team when they popped in with
Hygiene Packs, for our students as part of their ‘Project MOM’ Minding Our Matters mission. A
cause started by Nim Prasad to let young people in
crisis know someone cares about them, their wellbeing and that they are not
alone.
Pictured receiving the packs are Mr Wilson, Guidance Officer, Mrs Budge, Guidance Officer, Megan Smith, Youth Health Nurse and Miss Campbell, Deputy Principal.
Rotary is an
entirely volunteer organisation, raising funds to support those in need and the
MOM Hygiene Packs will support children in need, each pack contains toiletry
items. “The main items teenagers need when they are in crisis so that they feel
better about themselves” Heather Irvine, from the
Rotary Club of Mt Gravatt, told the Student Support Team, something the team
are well aware of and were very grateful to receive the packs.
Rotary Mt
Gravatt work closely with young people through many of their programs, including
their Exchange Student Program. Geoff Brady from Rotary Mt Gravatt said, “Many
of our exchange students have been accommodated by Mt Gravatt High School, including
our current student visiting from Denmark”.
