Dear Parents and Caregivers,
This morning Mt Gravatt High at approximately 7.50am today became aware of an email sent to the school making a "Bomb Threat".
As soon as this was known, we initiated a precautionary evacuation of the school as well as preventing access for those students travelling to school, at around 8.00am in response to an emailed threat.
The Queensland Police Service attended our school and the evacuation was lifted at approximately 8.44 am.
All External Exams scheduled for this morning will go ahead as planned but commenced 15 minutes later than the expected start time of 9.15 am. It is expected that all exam conditions will be met including the time provided to students to complete the exam but with a later finishing time than expected. We will seek advice from the QCAA regrading this delay in starting the exams and inform you of this when it becomes available.
I would like to thank our staff and students for conducting the evacuation in a calm and responsible manner.
Rest assured, the safety and welfare of your children is our utmost priority and support is being provided to anyone who requires it.
Thank you for your continuing support of Mount Gravatt High.
Yours sincerely
Ross Robertson
Principal
