Mount Gravatt High was recognised at the Gala Showcase
Awards for Excellence in State Schools by winning the State Award in the Junior
Secondary category.
Arguably the best Junior Secondary approach to schooling
young adolescents compared to anywhere in the State is a fantastic achievement.
We have a unique approach to Year 7
entering high school and without wavering from fundamental principles that
every student in our school is cared for in a safe environment of high
standards and high expectations. Many schools will deliver the
"what", but at Mount Gravatt the difference is in the
"how". Our claim to this award was based on a theme that
"success is in our DNA".
Our school has long standing tradition and
standards while looking ahead to innovate, which was recognised and
acknowledged by this award.
Staff celebrate the win with The Honourable Kate Jones, Minister for Education.
The award was recognised and celebrated at the school assembly. Sam Harrison poses for a photo with Mr Usher and representatives of the Junior Secondary team.
