CIRCA 1960
Mount Gravatt State High School opened on 8 October 1960 by the Honourable T.A. Hiley M.L.A (Treasurer and Minister for Housing). Mr Vic Greet was the Foundation Principal.
Opened as a co-educational government secondary school located in Mount Gravatt, a suburb in the south of Brisbane.
In 2009 the administration block was destroyed by fire and sadly Mount Gravatt High School lost a lot of its history. A rebuild of the administration block was opened on 3 September 2010 by the Honourable Cameron Dick.
In 2010 Mount Gravatt High School celebrated its Golden Jubilee Anniversary , the ceremony recognised the history of the school and the role it has played in the community for the past 50 years.

The school is an Education Queensland International (EQI) pioneer school for International student programs and today has over 55 students from across the globe.
