The Mount Gravatt High School Robotics Club - TBA
With their enthusiasm, curiosity and growing technical skills these students form part of the core of young learners with their vision set on the STEM disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
In 2019 the Mount Gravatt High
Robotics Team had success at the First Lego League State Finals receiving the
award for Best Project and then followed up at the National Finals (Northern
region) receiving the second place award for Robot Mechanical Design. In 2022
we hope to continue this success with students participating in competitions
such as RoboCup at the University of Queensland and the First Lego League at
the Queensland University of Technology. We are also looking at a senior team
competing in the First Tech Challenge.
The Mount Gravatt High School Robotics
Club meets every Tuesday afternoon from 2.40pm to 4.00pm (and most lunch hours)
with students developing 21st century skills in the following areas:
- Team work and social skills
- Creative and critical thinking to
solve complex real world problems
- Programming block and line coding
- Mechanical robot design and
construction
- Developing problem solving skills
individually and in groups
