Year 10 student, Thabitha Bino, recently represented Mount Gravatt High at this year's Lord Mayor's Youth Advisory Council, held at Brisbane City Hall. Student delegates, like Thabitha, act as a voice for their school and community, raising awareness of important issues affecting our society. This year's main theme revolves around the issues of liveability in a world dominated by climate change.
Thabitha will be involved in multiple workshops throughout the year, engaging with young people from schools throughout Brisbane. The forum helps enhance leadership skills in high school students and the delegates are encouraged to work with their peers to generate and share their ideas, helping fulfil the environmental, social, creative and economic aspirations of young people today. Great work Thabitha.
