The Academic EDGE Program offered at Mount Gravatt High is a selective entry program open to students entering Year 7. Academic EDGE is one of the Junior Secondary signature programs offered at Mount Gravatt High.
This program aims to promote the pursuit of excellence by equipping students with the skills of creative and critical thinking, inquiry, collaboration and a sense of community.
Why Academic EDGE?
Students in Academic EDGE interact with peers who are able to think at the same depth and pace in a supportive, low-risk, high-challenge learning environment.
Students in the Academic EDGE program will experience additional opportunities, which may include but are not limited to:
- Writers' Workshop
- Creation and publication of an annual EDGE short story book
- Cross curricular inquiry projects
- EDGE Showcase Evening
- High Resolves Project
- Participation in extra-curricular activities including Maths Team Challenge, Robotics, STEM, Public Speaking competitions, Debating, Drama.
Entry into the Academic EDGE cohort is based on merit. Academic EDGE candidates undertake an application process to be considered for this program.
