The Music EDGE Program offered at Mount Gravatt High is a selective entry program open to students entering Year 7. Music EDGE is one of the Junior Secondary signature programs and offers unique opportunities for students who have been accepted into the Music EDGE program.
Students are enriched through teaching and learning experiences, and enjoy additional extension opportunities. Music EDGE students will focus on developing practical performance skills, both individually and as part of a group.
Students in Music EDGE interact with peers who are able to think at the same depth and pace in a supportive, low-risk, high-challenge learning environment.
Expressing your interest in Music EDGE
The Music EDGE program offered at Mount Gravatt High is a selective entry program, open to students entering Year 7 in 2023. Music EDGE is one of Mount Gravatt High signature programs in Junior Secondary. As such, some enrolments into Mount Gravatt High can occur from outside of the normal catchment boundaries.
Music EDGE is a two (2) year course that sees students from the year-long 7 Music EDGE continue into Year 8 Music EDGE in 2023. The Year 8 Music EDGE course is a semester long course.
Entry into the Year 7 Music EDGE class is dependent upon the availability of places. Should a place not be available, suitable applicants will be placed on a waiting list, and their application evaluated if a place becomes available in the program.
Entry into the Music EDGE cohort is based on merit. Music EDGE candidates undertake an application process to be considered for this program.
